Welcome to the Columbus Bonsai Society

Submitted by cbs_admin on Thu, 2008-05-15 15:22.

In the 1970s several founding members created the Columbus Bonsai Society in Columbus, Ohio. The mission of the Columbus Bonsai Society is to promote knowledge and understanding of the art and craft of Bonsai among the general public, especially in the Central Ohio area; and to create educational, artistic, horticultural, and social opportunities for Society members related to the growing and care of miniature trees and related art forms.

The Columbus Bonsai Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit educational organization. CBS holds an annual show each year in June, we host several visiting Masters each year, attend field trips, hold demonstrations and workshops, and have annual picnics and holiday parties. Presently, the Society has about 75 active members.

Meetings
We welcome you to attend our monthly meetings, which are open to everyone. Our meetings take place at Franklin Park Conservatory at 2:00 PM ET on the third Sunday of each month (some exceptions for holidays). The Conservatory, which has its own public collection of bonsai, is located at 1777 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43203.

We schedule a variety of programs each month, including hands-on workshops, demonstrations from visiting Bonsai Masters, lectures and more. Our programs are designed to help and encourage new bonsai growers and experienced hobbyists alike.

Our members receive a monthly newsletter, advice from experts, access to special workshops and demonstrations, special discounts, and more. Please join us.
